My Role:
Business Consultation, Creative Direction, Branding, UI/UX, Product Design, Project Management
When the folks at Peopletail connected with me over Linkedin, I was delighted by their vision and passion - truly an innovative way of the future and I was honoured to be part of it.
While staying close to the existing fonts and logos, their existing designs deserved a facelift in order to align to their special mission, objectives and market, and throughout the process, I was glad to be able to resurface their initial spark, and core values that will surely create a foundation to pave the way forward.
During our time together, I began with a deep understanding of their business, after an initial consultation, moving through branding and business workshops with brainstorming exercises to narrow down things like brand voice and archetypes, competitive advantages, target demographics and psychographics; compare and contrast competitors and other benchmarks, before reviewing and assessing their existing designs discovering opportunities for improvements. This was a highly collaborative process and we continued discussions online over calls and sticky note sessions, characterized with many Eureka and exciting moments. Spending time to work through these processes proved to be the most important.
With such groundwork in place, it was easy to find our design direction, whether it would be colour palettes, ecommerce patterns, social media psychology or plan the architecture that drives the platform. The focus turned from a colder corporate look integrated into the blankness of an Amazon product catalogue to a social, people and community centric vibrant lifestyle platform.
We discovered the platform's true power and core values in being the empowerment of community creators to become influencers and earn from products they enjoy. This transformed the designs into a whole fresh vision while keeping ecommerce in mind. In addition, I was involved in the development of the revenue model, reward program, and gamefication system.
In the end, I delivered extensive packags with logo formats, brand style guide, posters, banners for trade shows, responsive web designs and developer ready specifications.
